Making in School

Cohort Members

PS/MS 46 introduced Making to their course offerings and the results have been a more engaged student body. The Makerspace includes a technology room and open space to Make and is offered to all grades.

Why did you choose a career in education?

I love to see how children can transform what they have been taught into their own concepts.

What hobbies or other interests have your brought to your classroom?

Media arts and science have played a vital role in my classroom.

How do you plan on bringing Making to your students this year?

Making is based on children's interest and creativity so I have found many ways to ignite those abilities through Project-Based Learning. This year, I would like to group my students by interest and connect what we're doing in class to what they are Making to real life.
