Why did you choose a career in education?
The career chose me. I had worked as a reporter and technologist before deciding to go back to college to finish my degree. While in school, I began working for the Liberty Science Center, where I discovered a love for communicating STEM to large and varying audiences. Soon I was developing my own STEM programs and helping public and private organizations around the world as they developed their own, before joining the CS4All and the Department of Education.

How do you plan on bringing Making to your students this year?
I have the pleasure of helping wonderful and amazing teachers through CS4All. I help teachers not only learn about computer science and how to bring it into their classrooms, but I encourage them to give their students a space to explore and be digital content creators or makers, as opposed to consumers.
