Why did you choose a career in education?
Originally I wanted to make a difference and get students passionate about Science. I studied Environmental Science in college and have also been passionate about nature and the environment. I started a Green Team that did some making with recyclable materials. I now teach an engineering course and I incorporate design as much as possible.
What hobbies or other interests have your brought to your classroom?
I have incorporated Making into my classroom, especially with Scratch from the PD I took last year. I want to expand my Scratch unit to incorporate Makey Makey and the work the students have done with circuits.

How do you plan on bringing Making to your students this year?
I want to do a Canes Arcade/musical instrument/amusement park ride challenge using Scratch, Makey Makeys, and circuits.
