MFSC Maker Ed Cohort Goes to Camp
On Saturday, Nov. 4, representatives from the MFSC Maker Educator Cohort were invited attend the Maker Ed/Maker Promise EdCamp at Friends' Central School in Philadelphia.
EdCamp is a collaborative event where attendees can volunteer to run workshops or lead conversations. Cohort members ran a workshop on Paper Roller Coasters as a community building activity. Conversations around Maker Ed culture, sewing circuitry, assessing Maker projects, and ways to bring Maker culture to school were among the other offerings.
An over-arcing activity was the Maker Learning Project Improv where participants wrote about a project they were developing and got feedback from other Maker Educators.

One of the best parts of the day was getting to work in the Friends' Central School Light Lab. Check out Director Brie Daley's tour of where the Light Lab does it right.
